Job Description:

The Inn at Bay Fortune, located in Canada, is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Food and Beverage Manager to oversee our dining operations. As a Food and Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the food and beverage department, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high standards of service and quality.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the food and beverage department, including restaurants, bars, and banquet facilities.
  2. Lead and motivate the dining staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  3. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop menus, create innovative dining experiences, and ensure the highest quality of food and beverage offerings.
  4. Monitor and manage inventory, including ordering supplies, tracking stock levels, and controlling costs.
  5. Develop and implement standard operating procedures and service protocols to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  6. Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, updates, and performance expectations.
  7. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling practices, and liquor licensing requirements.
  8. Analyze financial reports, monitor revenue, and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
  9. Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable pricing and terms.
  10. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and concerns, resolving issues promptly and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  11. Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop and execute promotions, events, and marketing initiatives.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, implementing innovative ideas to enhance the dining experience.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience as a Food and Beverage Manager or in a similar role within the hospitality industry is required.
  2. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with guests and staff.
  4. Solid knowledge of food and beverage operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house procedures.
  5. Proven financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and revenue management.
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.
  8. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  9. Culinary diploma or certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  10. Proficiency in a second language, particularly French, may be advantageous.
