Job Summary:
As a Bellhop/Porter, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service and ensuring the smooth handling of guests’ luggage and belongings. Your friendly and professional demeanor, along with your attention to detail and strong physical stamina, will contribute to creating a positive and convenient experience for our guests. This role requires excellent communication skills, a helpful attitude, and the ability to assist guests with various needs.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests upon arrival and assist with handling their luggage and belongings.
- Escort guests to their rooms, explaining hotel amenities and providing information about the local area.
- Assist guests with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accuracy in billing and personal information.
- Provide information and recommendations about hotel services, facilities, amenities, and local attractions.
- Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a prompt and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of guest interactions and special requests.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments, such as front desk and concierge, to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Assist with the transportation of guests’ luggage to and from their rooms, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Provide support during emergencies, following appropriate protocols and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of luggage storage areas and bell carts.
- Assist guests with arranging transportation, including booking taxis, rental cars, or private drivers.
- Assist with special requests, such as delivering packages, mail, or amenities to guest rooms.
- Offer assistance to guests with disabilities or mobility limitations, ensuring their comfort and convenience.
- Follow hotel policies and procedures regarding guest privacy and security.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a bellhop, porter, or in a similar customer service role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy luggage.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of local attractions and amenities to provide recommendations to guests.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including email and basic office applications.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in hospitality is an advantage.
- Additional language proficiency is a plus.
