Job Description

Ethero is a leading recruitment agency specializing in providing staffing solutions to various industries. We are currently seeking an experienced FLT Counterbalance Driver to join our team in the United Kingdom. As an FLT Counterbalance Driver, you will be responsible for operating a forklift truck equipped with a counterbalance mechanism to safely and efficiently move goods within the warehouse or industrial setting.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate a counterbalance forklift truck to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse or designated areas.
2. Safely stack and unstack pallets or other containers in accordance with stacking guidelines.
3. Inspect and perform pre-operational checks on the forklift truck, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements.
4. Adhere to safe operating procedures and guidelines while operating the forklift, including proper use of seat belts, horn, and other safety features.
5. Load and unload trucks, containers, and shelves using the forklift, ensuring proper positioning and securing of the goods.
6. Transport goods to and from storage areas or production lines, ensuring accurate placement and organization.
7. Assist in the receiving and checking of incoming goods, comparing them to the accompanying documentation for accuracy.
8. Prepare goods for shipment by inspecting and selecting appropriate packaging materials and labeling containers.
9. Maintain accurate inventory records by recording goods movements and reporting any discrepancies or shortages.
10. Collaborate with warehouse team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
11. Follow health and safety regulations, including the safe handling of hazardous materials if applicable.
12. Keep the warehouse clean and organized, including removing debris, sweeping floors, and maintaining clear aisles and walkways.
13. Report any operational issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
14. Follow company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality requirements.
15. Assist in other warehouse duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements:

1. Valid FLT Counterbalance license or certification is essential.
2. Proven experience operating a counterbalance forklift truck in a warehouse or industrial setting.
3. Good understanding of forklift operations, including load capacity, stability, and maneuvering techniques.
4. Ability to safely operate the forklift in various environments and tight spaces.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and documentation.
6. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks.
7. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
8. Clear communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
9. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime when required.
10. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to forklift operations.
11. Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
