Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and versatile Construction General Maintenance Person to join our team in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of general maintenance tasks on construction sites, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained to support ongoing operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to identify maintenance needs and issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairing and replacing damaged equipment, fixtures, and structures.
- Carry out general maintenance activities such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs as needed.
- Install, maintain, and repair construction site utilities, including water supply systems, electrical connections, and lighting fixtures.
- Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for general maintenance work.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize disruptions to construction operations.
- Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance measures.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of construction sites, including debris removal and waste management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in general maintenance work within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of various maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of tools and equipment commonly used in construction maintenance.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices related to construction sites.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with colleagues and contractors.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions.
- A valid driver’s license may be required depending on the specific job site locations.
- Relevant certifications or trade qualifications in maintenance or a related field are desirable.
