Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Tyre Technician to join our team at Station Road Tyres in the UK. As a Tyre Technician, your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality tyre services to our customers. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tyre Installation and Repairs:

   • Mount, balance, and install tyres on various vehicles, ensuring proper fitment and alignment.
   • Conduct tyre repairs, such as patching punctures, replacing valves, and repairing tread damage.
   • Use appropriate tools and equipment to perform tyre-related tasks efficiently and safely.

2. Wheel Alignment:

   • Perform wheel alignment services using computerized alignment equipment.
   • Inspect suspension components and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper alignment.
   • Provide alignment reports and recommendations to customers based on findings.

3. Tire Maintenance and Inspection:

   • Perform tyre inspections to assess wear, damage, and tread depth.
   • Advise customers on tyre maintenance, rotation, and replacement based on their vehicle’s needs.
   • Maintain accurate records of tyre services performed and customer information.

4. Customer Service:

   • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
   • Provide expert advice and recommendations to customers regarding tyre selection, performance, and maintenance.
   • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.

5. Workshop Maintenance:

   • Ensure a clean and organized work area, including the proper storage and disposal of tyres and related materials.
   • Perform regular maintenance and calibration of tyre equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
   • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience as a Tyre Technician or in a similar automotive role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tyre installation, repairs, and maintenance techniques.
• Familiarity with wheel alignment procedures and computerized alignment equipment.
• Excellent manual dexterity and technical skills to handle various tools and equipment.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and guidelines accurately.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and provide assistance to customers.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift and maneuver heavy tyres.
• Basic computer skills for recording services and customer information.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred.
