Job Summary:
Nuffield Health, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking dedicated and vigilant individuals to join our team as Lifeguards. As a Lifeguard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals using our swimming facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor pool activities, enforce safety rules, and respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents. Responsibilities:
- Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area, proactively identifying potential risks or hazards
- Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all individuals using the swimming facilities
- Respond immediately and appropriately to any emergencies, providing necessary assistance and administering first aid or CPR as required
- Conduct regular inspections of the pool area and equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance or safety issues
- Maintain accurate records of pool usage, incidents, and maintenance activities
- Provide excellent customer service, answering inquiries and providing guidance to members regarding pool usage, programs, and safety protocols
- Assist in the organization and delivery of swimming lessons, aqua fitness classes, and other aquatic activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth operations and effective communication within the facility
- Stay updated on lifeguarding techniques, safety procedures, and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development
- Adhere to Nuffield Health’s policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor, representing Nuffield Health’s values and commitment to customer satisfaction
Requirements:
- Valid RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent certification
- Experience working as a lifeguard, preferably in a pool or aquatic environment
- Strong knowledge of water safety practices, emergency response procedures, and first aid/CPR
- Excellent observation and surveillance skills, with the ability to identify potential risks or hazards quickly
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members and colleagues
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform water rescue and provide assistance in emergency situations
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations and make quick and informed decisions
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
- Eligibility to work in the UK
