Job Summary:

Asda, one of the leading supermarket chains in the UK, is seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Customer Delivery Drivers. As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of groceries and other products to our valued customers. Your exceptional driving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to providing excellent customer service will contribute to the overall success of our delivery operations.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently deliver groceries and other products to customers’ homes within scheduled time windows.
• Use navigation tools and GPS systems to plan and optimize delivery routes.
• Load and unload delivery vans, ensuring the proper handling and care of products.
• Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive and friendly interaction with customers during deliveries.
• Verify customer identification and collect payment, when required.
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records of delivered orders.
• Adhere to all traffic and safety regulations to maintain a safe driving environment.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the delivery vehicle.
• Report any vehicle maintenance or repair needs promptly to supervisors.
• Collaborate with the delivery team and communicate any issues or concerns related to deliveries or customer feedback.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to food safety and hygiene.

Requirements:

• Valid UK driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience in delivery driving or a similar role is preferred.
• Excellent driving skills and a thorough understanding of traffic and safety regulations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to navigate and use GPS systems effectively.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying heavy loads.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in recording and documenting delivery information.
• Positive and professional demeanor.
• Knowledge of local areas and routes is an asset.
