Job Summary:

Roadhogs Recruitment Ltd, a reputable agricultural recruitment agency, is currently seeking dedicated and motivated individuals from overseas to join our team as Pig Farm Workers in the United Kingdom. As a Pig Farm Worker, you will play an essential role in the day-to-day operations of our pig farm, ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of the pigs. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the care and management of pigs, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their health and well-being.
2. Clean and maintain pig pens, equipment, and facilities to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for the animals.
3. Help with pig breeding, farrowing, and weaning processes, following established protocols and ensuring the welfare of the animals.
4. Monitor pig growth rates, feed consumption, and any health concerns, reporting findings to the relevant personnel.
5. Implement and adhere to vaccination programs and biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of diseases.
6. Maintain appropriate environmental conditions, including temperature and ventilation, to optimize pig comfort and performance.
7. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
8. Assist in general farm maintenance tasks, such as repairing fences, maintaining water systems, and other duties as assigned.
9. Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
10. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient farm operations and meet production targets.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience working on a pig farm or in a livestock-related role is preferred but not mandatory.
2. Basic knowledge of pig husbandry practices, including feeding, health monitoring, and biosecurity measures.
3. Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
4. Attention to detail and the ability to observe and identify signs of illness or distress in pigs.
5. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
6. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
7. Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays, as required.
8. A valid driver’s license may be preferred, depending on the farm’s location and requirements.
9. Valid work authorization or visa to work in the United Kingdom (please mention if sponsorship is available).
10. Proficiency in English (verbal and written) or willingness to learn English.
