Job Summary:

First Choice Home Care, a reputable provider of in-home care services, is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Care Workers. As a Care Worker, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals who require care in their own homes. Responsibilities:

1. Provide person-centered care and support to individuals in their own homes, respecting their dignity, privacy, and independence.
2. Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance.
3. Support individuals with medication management, following prescribed protocols and accurately documenting administration.
4. Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding, taking into account individual dietary requirements and preferences.
5. Support individuals with light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and tidy environment.
6. Engage in meaningful conversation and companionship, promoting social interaction and mental well-being.
7. Accompany individuals to appointments, outings, and social activities as required.
8. Monitor and report any changes in individuals’ conditions or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals or supervisors.
9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of care provided, including daily records, care plans, and incident reports.
10. Adhere to health and safety regulations and infection control practices to ensure a safe environment for both individuals and staff.

Qualifications:

1. Prior experience as a Care Worker or in a similar care-related role is preferred but not essential. Full training and induction will be provided.
2. A compassionate and caring nature with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships.
4. Empathy, patience, and the ability to adapt to varying needs and preferences of individuals.
5. Basic understanding of person-centered care principles and a commitment to providing individualized support.
6. Good organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
7. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
8. Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and clearance processes required for working with vulnerable individuals.
9. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle may be beneficial, depending on the specific role requirements.
10. Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to attend training sessions and acquire relevant certifications as required.
