Job Summary:
Interstate Europe Hotels & Resorts is currently seeking a skilled and reliable individual to join our team as a Hotel Maintenance Assistant. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of the hotel’s facilities and equipment. This position requires a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to address maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections of the hotel’s facilities, equipment, and systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner, ensuring proper resolution of issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, as well as HVAC and lighting systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities to ensure the ongoing operational efficiency and safety of equipment and facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and associated costs.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services as needed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, and request replenishment as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination in addressing maintenance issues.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in building maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues effectively.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks based on urgency and operational needs.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and guests.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Physical stamina to perform maintenance tasks that may involve lifting, climbing, and operating equipment.
- Basic computer literacy for record keeping and communication purposes.
