Key Responsibilities:

1. Prenatal Care: Provide comprehensive prenatal care, including regular check-ups, monitoring fetal development, and educating expectant mothers about pregnancy and childbirth.
2. Labor and Delivery: Attend to women during labor and childbirth, offering emotional support, pain management, and guidance to ensure a safe and positive birthing experience.
3. Postpartum Care: Offer postpartum care to mothers and newborns, including breastfeeding support, infant care guidance, and monitoring maternal recovery.
4. Education and Counseling: Provide education and counseling to expectant mothers and their families on various aspects of pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care.
5. Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for expectant mothers.
6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation.
7. Community Engagement: Engage with the community to promote maternal and child health through workshops, seminars, and outreach programs.
8. Visa and Work Permit Assistance: NL Health Services will provide support for the visa and work permit application process to qualified international applicants.

Qualifications:

• Current registration as a Registered Midwife (RM) in Canada or eligibility for registration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery or a related field.
