Key Responsibilities:
- Hydrological Modeling: Assist in hydrological modeling and analysis for various projects, including rainfall-runoff modeling, flood frequency analysis, and catchment assessment.
- Flood Risk Assessment: Contribute to flood risk assessments, floodplain mapping, and flood impact studies.
- Data Collection: Collect, process, and analyze hydrological and meteorological data for use in modeling and analysis.
- Software and Tools: Utilize specialized software and tools for flood modeling, such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or similar software.
- Report Preparation: Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Field Work: Participate in field investigations, data collection, and site visits as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, and project managers.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field with a focus on water resources or hydrology.
- Strong academic background in hydrology, hydraulics, and water resources engineering.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
